New Mosquito Pass Pics

Ya know what blows me away about the above pic? When I was last there, the land was barren. Avalanches and bad winters over the last 140 years had made Mosquito Gulch an inhospitable land for plants and animals alike. Being at Mosquito Pass made one feel that it was a man over nature operation. The land and climate were so harsh that plants barely could survive. Tree stumps dotted the landscape showing that the miners chopped down every tree they could find to burn to keep warm during those long cold winters. But after seeing the above pic, I have to wonder if global warming has suddenly turned this harsh valley into an area where plants can now grow and spread. There's more trees and plants than I've ever seen there.

Thanks Sue for the pics.
